The company behind the chain of stores was established in 1946 by Lucius Smith Lowe and now has stores in several locations within the United States and Canada. Lowe’s is a home improvement retail store chain that comprises of over 2,300 locations and 400,000 products in-store and online. We last caught them perform here a couple of years ago when their superb Wildewoman debut was released, and can confirm they’re a staggeringly good and wonderfully engaging live act. Next up, they return to the UK this April for seven live dates in support of the album, culminating with a London gig at Koko in Camden. Now added to the playlist at 6 Music and Amazing Radio, it’s also been featured by NME’s Radar and as one of the Hottest Tracks in the Sunday Times Culture section. The first taster of it is this pulsing pop nugget, premiered by Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show last month. Lowe died in 1940 and the business was sold to his brother Jim Lowe. They were unsigned at that point but now they’re about to release their much-anticipated second album for Play It Again Sam, titled Good Grief. Written by Shane Williams Lowe’s was founded in 1921 by Lucius Lowe in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, as a small hardware store. Last time we featured US five-piece Lucius was back in November 2013 with their track Turn It Around. ![]()
